What is Calisthenics?

Calisthenics is a form of exercise using consisting of variety movements without the use of equipment or apparatus, mainly using your own body weight. It's intended to increase body strength and flexibility with movements such as bending, jumping, swinging, twisting or kicking; using only one's body weight for resistance. When Calisthenics is performed vigorously and with a variety can benefit both muscular and cardiovascular fitness, in addition to improving skills such as balance, agility and coordination. In addition to the various stretches, some of the more common calisthenics exercise include: Lunges, Jumping Jacks, Sit-Ups, Crunches, Push-Ups, Pull Ups, Squats, Calf-Raises, Dips, Flutter Kicks, and etc.
